Test Rig Design and Structural Testing
Since 1997, Defence Science & Technology Organisation (DSTO) has played a major role in developing QinetiQ AeroStructures' testing capability. From supplementing existing testing capability to providing a complete turn-key solution, QinetiQ AeroStructures can provide fast, cost effective solutions to meet testing needs. With a background in the demanding aviation testing industry, QinetiQ AeroStructures has experience in designing, building and operating both static and fatigue life tests. Test items have included the full range from complete aircraft to components and representative coupons.
With access to DSTO's facilities and using the latest technologies in instrumentation, data acquisition, load application and load control systems, QinetiQ AeroStructures' staff can look after the complete testing cycle. Activities include test plan development, loads spectrum development, conceptual and detailed rig design, rig manufacture, test conduct, data capture and analysis, through to full and complete documentation.
All phases of the testing program are completed in accordance with relevant standards (such as AS 4100 for structural design) and within a full quality assurance system. In addition, our expertise in all aspects of testing ensures that clients receive a fully engineered solution, using the most efficient and robust processes and providing the shortest possible test turn around time.
